The title of this tumblr is inspired by the Zora Neale Hurston quote from her essay "how it feels to be colored me": "I feel most colored when I am thrown against a sharp white background." It serves as the title and inspiration for an amazing work by Glenn Ligon. This tumblr is a reflection of my art aesthetics but also hopes to highlight art and related topics that are often marginalized within the 'sharp white background' of the mainstream art world.
